Music Industry Marketing
Music Industry Marketing has changed tremendously in the last 15 years. There is so much opportunity for artists to make money online with their music. The location lines have disappeared with the internet. I particularly am excited about the opportunities for artists because you can market your music around the world and the best part sell music while you are sleeping. One of the biggest misconception is thinking that the internet is just and extension of the music industry. I talk about this in detail in my article about the music industry internet.
So let’s discuss a few of the cutting edge advances in music industry marketing that now exist for artists. The goal is to help you the artists discover the opportunities online, get educated (via BIZ4DaSoul), and take action based on your training. So let’s begin!
Music industry marketing (the money). Before the traffic you need to have a system setup to make you money. It means nothing to have thousands of people coming to your site or store and you don’t have the proper system setup to convert them from visitors to customers. Remember FAN is an acronym for Fueling Artistry Now. Your goal is to give them that opportunity. Also what if a thousand people visited your site and you never saw them again? Today’s technology allows for you to setup systems to market your music on your website to create more customers.
Web designers are losing their control of web development like record companies are losing their control of the music industry. We have a strategy at BIZ4DaSoul that teaches you how to setup and control your own website in 24 hours. And then there is email marketing. One of the single most powerful strategies in music industry marketing. Are you using this correctly? My survey of 171 artists across 23 countries in 2008 revealed that 96% were not executing their email marketing correctly. Many artists are still sending emails from their private email vs. a professional email service. Even worse many emails are now blocked by the big four (Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, and Hotmail) without you even being aware that this is happening. I have created a guaranteed spam free strategy to make sure your emails reach their destinations. It’s the simplest thing in the world that you may have never considered.
Music industry marketing (the traffic). Overall you have a greater access to resources to propel your music career than Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Céline Dion or Sting combined. On the internet MTV and commercial radio stations don’t rule. Google rules. And Google cares more about websites in relation to their links from other sites (especially those of authority) not the artist’s popular star status. So what this means is that independent artists can leverage MySpace, Facebook, Social Bookmarkting, content articles, business models and a bunch of other strategies to gain just as much traffic (and possibly money) as well known artists. The playing field has been leveraged!
Remember this. Never before have you had several billion dollar search engine corporations willing to help you (for FREE) as long as you are willing to provide the requirements they need to index you and thus send you traffic. And believe it or not it no longer takes an SEO expert to build traffic or a website. All you need is the knowledge known by a select few and some serious execution and repetition. BIZ4DaSoul is going to show you the ropes.
Music industry marketing has never been easier than tit is today. The key is gaining instructional knowledge in the music business as it relates to online marketing.
